ya know. even as i sit here after just getting home from work. and i reflect back on all of teh people and friends that ive made in the Remnants. i cant help but think about how much effort went into keeping things going. keeping in touch and staying friends despite wat arguments or misunderstandings had gone on. and ya know. even if the Remnants may ultimately disband in WoW. that doesnt mean it has to end here as well. for teh friends that we all have made. and for those all who have joined this site. i say that we keep uyp with eachother through here. cuz it wont always be easy to catch eachother in game. especially if a question needs to be answered or a favour requested. in game mail is nice. but we cant always get to a mailbox either.
but yeah. thats my thought. a lot of work went into the site itself. it would be a shame to see it go to waste. i for one always tried to come here atleast once a day if i was able just to see if anyone had posted anything.
but as i said. its just an idea and suggestion. its up to everyone else too to make it happen.

I'm with you Korda. Even being in the Circle and running that site, I always come back here to check up on everyone. I've been with Remnants since Level 8, I got attached to it and the people in it. And seeing as I have a gazillion alts that no one can remember, I'll always be here to see if anyone needs anything or just to say hello!

I'll continue friendships with those who wish to keep in touch with me. Otherwise, I am going back to the reason I started playing this game - to enjoy myself and to play with my father and brother.
There is a motto my brothers and sisters in arms have within the SCA. "Heroes die. Units win." It means that we must have complete trust and loyalty to each other, knowing in our hearts that the person to our left and right will help not break and will protect those around them. That they will fight in any way to help one another. Those that stand for their own self-interests will find themselves alone, and on the field of battle, have their name whispered into the ear of a crossbowoman with instructions to report back how many times they're shot. When I took up a crossbow this past weekend and fought despite seizures I saw that demonstrated in a way I could never imagine - even outside of physical combat. It changed my priorities.
It is not worth running a guild of heroes.
It is worth devoting my time and energy to those who have stood beside me outside of the game for many years now, turning me from someone who huddled by herself to someone who can take hardship and stay on her feet. We are a hard lot, but if you can rise to it, there will be bonds of loyalty forged by tempered steel itself. It is no surprise to hear that the majority of people in the SCA typically play with other Scadians.
And above all, my father and brother are the reason I play WoW. Right below that is because it is a game and a game is meant to be fun.
Running a guild of heroes is not what I wish to do. It is not worth fighting for when there are other causes in my life I wish to lend my hands to. I leave the banner for someone else to pick up.

Just because we're all in different guilds and different places in our lives, we don't have to lose hope. Sure, this just means more work to keep in touch, but if you're really friends then you won't mind the extra bit it takes to talk to someone. Quite truthfully, it won't be work at all.
All good things come to an end, people changes, interests change, and sad as it is, we've all got to say good bye to something we love. We all loved Remnants, but it was time to let go. We're all close, some more than others, this will just test the strengths of the bonds we built while in there.

Very fine words, but somehow, if someone could not speak to me before leaving the Remnants, I doubt they will after. After all, one person bothered to contact me as to what to do with the Remnants after I decided there were far more important things - such as living as I wished and not logging on to be the guild leader people expected but didn't have, for I am Warraven and no one else. And even then, that fell through.
My internet is going to be dead until tomorrow as the card is busted. After tomorrow I will be spending my time with the SCA setting up for our yearly event and will have no free time until Monday, for it is a lot of hard but worthwhile work, even if I do get left on parking duty for two hours in the rain again this year.
If no one wishes to continue the Remnants than I will be deciding how best to ensure the guild bank is fairly given to those who have been an active part of the guild and could use what is inside. Then I will disband the guild.
You say you care and yet no one does anything. I will not leave the Remnants on hold on an alt while people go on poetically about how great it was. Tell me who will assume leadership or the guild will be gone before the end of the month.
I will make an official announcement on the guild message to this ends. Perhaps it's just a matter of the old guard moving out and the new guard moving in. Either way, I refuse to just sit here and pretend everything is fine the way it is.

Well, regardless of what happens in the guild and whatnot, I am leaving this website open for people to do what it was meant to do. Share, talk, keep in touch, whatever. I'll update it as much as I do the Circle website.
Sure, things suck... it happens. Just a lot of us don't want to dwell on the crap, its easier to remember our good times we had.
