The following is an explanation of ranks and what they mean.
Luminary - the guild leader. "a person who has attained eminence in his or her field or is an inspiration to others" "of, pertaining to, or characterized by light" Essentially, the Luminary is supposed to be the model of the Remnants Virtues and inspire others to follow them the same. While the Luminary does not have to be perfect in their path, they must continually strive for the path of honor is a difficult one. The Luminary has no defining color associated for there is only one in the guild.
Lore Keeper - An Officer rank that tend to the other members of the guild by helping them in whatever they need - be it a quest or just saving them from some rowdy Alliance. They may also suggest others to go to for help, as a Lore Keeper cannot help in every situation. They are also responsible for assigning mentors to new members. Their colors are Green and Brown, colors associated with the earth and thus nurturing and growth.
Shield of War - An Officer rank in charge of the combat aspects of the guild. They organize dungeon runs, quest help, and anything else that involves beating someone or something's face in. As a Shield of War, they are also charged with protecting the guild from the hostilities of war and anything that might threaten the members within it. Their colors are red and black, associated with death and violence.
Sword of Virtue - An Officer rank charged to uphold the the Virtues and conduct of the guild. They can perform any of the above tasks but are not responsible for anything but the normal tasks of any Officer - keeping people involved, making sure any conflicts are resolved, managing the day-to-day running of a guild. Basically, the Officer rank for people that do not wish to specialize in the other two aspects and wish to help as needed. Their colors are white and blue, symbolizing tranquility and peace.
Guardian - a member rank of a person who has achieved the respect of the guild for their actions and good council. This rank is just below officers and can almost be considered officership without the responsibility, for they are allowed to participate in officer conversation and add their advice. It is the rank of trusted individuals who have proven invaluable to the guild. Their color is purple, symbolizing nobility.
Champion - a member rank for someone who has excelled in both the Virtues and aiding other members. They are the ones who represent the guild and as Champions, are expected to be a model of what a Remnant strives for. Their time as a standard bearer has hardened them into someone who protects everyone around them. They are marked by the color red, which can mean both love and war, symbolizing both excellence on the battlefield and a dedication for the guild.
Standard Bearer - in battle, a standard bearer was someone who took upon them the danger and honor of carrying the standard, for it was a symbol that gave both courage to the fighters and was a target for the enemy. The Standard Bearers of the Remnants are called such for they now represent what the Remnants stand for and it is noticble to more than just the guild. Their color is black, a color of resolve and a reminder of the dangerous path they now embark on.
Acclaimed - when a member is noticed by enough in the guild for their deeds it is brought to the attention of the Officers. By being spoken for by others they are acclaimed for their actions, and so their rank is adjusted accordingly. Their color is blue for distinction and honor.
Devotee - this rank is achieved when a member shows that they are more than just followers of others and have started to commit themselves to the ideals of the guild and the guild itself. Their color is white, symbolizing the purity of the path they are just stepping onto.
Follower - the first rank of the guild, a follower is someone who shows interest in what the Remnants are and what they do. They have no associated color.
When a person is promoted they are given an outfit with their associated colors and instructions as to how to present themselves before the guild. After this ceremony they are not required to use their colors, unless they chose to.
